So today I was to dust and organize above my cabinets. As you can see I really didn't have much to do but dust and boy it was bad! We moved into this house about 5 years ago and I think I have only dusted up there once. Don't mind the paint lines, I didn't bother painting down to the cabinets since we can't see up there! The canning jars are old jars from my grandma and I really don't have a place to display them so they ended up there. The dusting took about 5 min, not long at all. I did find last years notes to Santa and my children's letters to Santa up there!
Here is a fun quote, "You're never too old to become younger." Mae West.

Organization!

Well today, Jan. 2nd, I started buy making my organization station! So what I did was take paper boxes from Staples, and labeled them. I have donate, take upstairs, and give away. The give away box is for items that need to go to a friends house. So far, I have a book in the give away box. http://theredchairblog.blogspot.com/2009/09/diy-storage-for-transient-items.html This is the link to what my station looks like. I hope soon to be able to add pictures. My new camera should be here on Thursday! I can't wait to actually start tomorrow by declutter the top of the cabinets. Lets hope I don't fall off the counter.

My new start in 2012!

Welcome all to my blog! This year I have set a goal to declutter and organize my life and home. I have downloaded the 2012 Declutter and Organize Calendar from http://www.mysimplerlife.com, to help me along on my journey. I found this great calendar on Pinterest and thought I should hold myself accountable by starting this blog. I will be including pictures and ideas and thoughts as I go about this process.
For January 1st, my job is to think about who I want to be this coming year. That is a easy one. First I would like to become a better mom and wife. I don't think I know anyone who would not want to improve in these areas. I would obviously like to become more organized at home as well and that one will be the most difficult!
I would like to end this first post with a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, " Write it on your heart that every day is the best day of the year."
